Rufus Wainwright's "Going To A Town"
Good ol' Ruffie is playing a show tonight at NYC's Gramercy Theater. Well he's playing on tonight, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. They did all kinds of fun stuff to the interior of the venue like added curtains and a disco ball! Fancy! Can't wait to see the final product!
This is the first video for the first single of the fifth album that came out last month called "Going To A Town". While in The UK (where his album had a #2 spot for it's debut!) they shot his next video for "Rules And Regulations". I saw a cut of it last night & it is so much fun and full of male ballet dancers (ballerinos?) - more along the lines of his video for "April Fools". Can't wait til that one is finished! Though the one below is fantastic (by Sophie Mueller) and very fitting towards the song's message and sentiment.

"I'm Not There" poster leak.
Seriously, people are like - whoa! A poster leak a few places online. And really, it's JUST a poster. But okay, this is by Todd Haynes and it's about Bob Dylan, and different actors portray Dylan through different stages of his life... so that is a triple threat and dare I say I'm a little excited?

Neil Diamond's "Brooklyn Roads"
I arrived New York last week, and have been staying at Grace & Ty's place in Brooklyn. (Let's talk about the weather: The first couple days featured heat of 90 degree weather and humidity to make my hair appear as if I was ready for a Bon Jovi video in 1986. It rained all night last night, and thankfully that has brought the temperature down to the 70s.)
Rachel "the brain" & I went to the CSS show at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza (Can I still just refer to the venue as Irving?) Ran into Eugene Mirman who is a sweetheart and once again thanked me for shoes I got him months ago. Love it when comedians aren't buttholes. We caught a couple songs by Yo Majesty - who were really great y'all. Serious. For all of you who love and/or missed out on JJ Fad, this is the answer. CSS were great, as if that were in question, they're adorable but more importantly - they were fun. Even though you've been hearing those songs for a year or more now, they're still entertaining when CSS are throwing candy, glitter, invisible good vibes, and an actual vibe (just one) out at the audience. Lovefoxxx is just awesome. (Love those bodysuits girl!) Afterwards I just went home to hang out with Grace who had just flown in from a week with Battles in France. Jet laaag!
The following day, was the day of Jenn & Kevin's wedding at the Angel Orensanz Foundation Arts Center. Anything I can say at length will only remove from the sentiment, so I'll just say this: It was perfect and beautiful.
And who better to mention now, but Neil Diamond - whose love songs are fantastic and catchy. So many artists have used his songs as their own and gained hits from them! This one is most appropriate right now... as I am typing this in Brooklyn.
