home sweet

It has been a long few weeks, but being home... nothing beats really being home. & lucky me - I have been at home for a full 24 hours. My cat is so happy he is sleeping at my feet in hot-dog-formation. The view from my balcony only looks this good when I've been gone for awhile. (See above.)

MP3: Loudon Wainwright III - Grey In L.A.

Today the sky was fairly grey and cold, sometimes sunny in spots, but a far cry from the 90º day it was on Monday. I actually had to use my fan, and my heater within days of each other. The weather today reminded me of Cut Copy's new "Hearts On Fire" video, where a rain cloud follows poor Dan around. A couple of my friends have suffered break-ups recently and find the video to be a comfort and a comical view of feeling sorry for yourself. As much as I love the song/band/etc - I sure as hell do not need a reminder of how sad it can be to do something as minimal as throwing away your former lover's toothbrush. Crushing!

I had so many things I wanted to jot down today, like how guilty party #1 and I were wondering about how loser/superfan/sad-case ex-intern who everyone couldn't help but notice in the front row of the Echoplex show on Monday actually gets out of bed (really sad!), but I'm about 4 red bull drinks in. + I can't figure out how to f*cking post a youtube video on our newly moved Modular blog. (Yes I'm using the HTML posting, I've watched the dumb tutorials, so someone please give me an easy fix.)

Still funny after all these years:
