Benefit for Jennifer Tefft (Spaceland) tomorrow in L.A.

This is for my friend Jennifer. She is one of the sweetest people I've ever met.
If any of you don't know who she is, she has booked Spaceland for years and years and years. Not only has she enriched the LA music scene with her hard work and great taste, she is a great lady with a gigantic heart. Please pass this on.

From: Jennifer

I’m sure you all know that I was in the hospital at the beginning of May due to complications from lupus anticoagulant, a blood clotting disorder that I was diagnosed with 17 years ago. My health insurance is for people with pre-existing conditions, so I have incurred a lot of medical expenses that my insurance won’t cover. Thankfully, I am blessed with many good friends that have agreed to play a benefit show for me.
The show is this Thursday July 2 at the Echoplex and Echo.

I would love to see you there!! But if you are out of town or just can’t afford to spend money on a concert right now, perhaps you could send the info to friends who you think would be interested.

Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!!!
xoxoxoJennifer

pfft. foiled again.

The last time we planned a trip up the coast the Santa Barbara area was on fire. This weekend, we were going to try again and even found a hotel in Solvang that accepts pets. Thanks to Michael Jackson's public viewing at Neverland Ranch, heading north on the 101 any time after Thursday would be what the news is calling a "logistical nightmare."

I'm in agreement. The only way to get up to Neverland Ranch is going through the 101 fwy which is where Solvang is off of. I know there's going to be hordes (understatement) of MJ enthusiasts making non-MJ-related tourists and locals in the area lose their holiday weekends. Including us. Now our weekend plans are sunk!!!

The kind of traffic this public viewing is surely going to cause road rage.

Fooey! Bollocks! Baloney!

12 year old me...

...was very serious about this song.

This fecking song...

...has been in my head for three days now. Which is how I might have to listen to music for a little bit until I have more time to import a stack... Why? I dropped my HD *badly* last night as the puppy tried to jump, which she isn't supposed to do as not to rupture her stitches from her spay surgery. I'm able to retrieve about 50% of my digital files but some of them are just dunzo. Bummed!

Anyway, here's a bad version of the video, but it's the only one on you tube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3JAC7oeX8U

Sublet Oliver's flat in Brooklyn NY in July

Date: June 29, 2009 8:10:18 AM PDT
Subject: Sublet my sweet studio apt in Greenpoint/Williamsburg July 5 - July 18

Hello everyone - I will be out of town for a large portion of July and would like to sublet my place to either friends or friends of friends.

i'm about a 6/7 minute walk to the graham ave. L stop. and about the same to the Nassau G. super quick to get into the city from the L...probably about 10 minutes-ish to union square.

i'm looking for $550 (incl. utilities/wireless - no tv) for that 2 weeks...

there's tons of bars and restaurants on graham ave a block away or if you walk the opposite way down Russell the McGolrick Park is like 2 blocks away...and you know...tons of stuff in Greenpoint...

If anyone is looking to hang in New York City for a few weeks during the summer, this is a great and affordable place to spend that time!

I will be asking for a deposit for anyone interested that is not a friend (or friend of friend...)

Thanks,
Oliver
