Overview:
Juicy Couture, founded in 1994 by Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-
Levy, has evolved into a multimillion-dollar lifestyle brand.
Originally known for the tracksuit, Juicy Couture has expanded into
women's and girls' ready-to-wear apparel, shoes, swimwear, timepieces,
handbags, sunglasses, jewelry, optic eyewear, small leather goods and
women's fragrances. Juicy also offers baby gear and a wide array of
doggie accessories for the savvy puppy. Juicy Couture currently has 62
retail locations across the U.S. and is set to expand to 65 stand-
alone retail stores in the U.S. by year-end 2009. Internationally,
Juicy Couture retail locations can be found in Italy, Japan, Hong
Kong, China, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and will
expand in Asia and the United Kingdom with 29 stores by the end of
2009, totaling 94 retail locations worldwide.
PURPOSE:
Oversee public relations activities on behalf of Juicy Couture. This
is a newly created position, and we are looking for a seasoned PR
executive with corporate experience in a retail, multi-outlet, brand-
led company, who can help the Company shape the role of Public
Relations, determine strategy, ascertain appropriate resources, and
evaluate and manage a team.
Responsibilities:
• Develop PR strategies and programs to support Juicy Couture business
initiatives
• Support store openings and ongoing events
• Serve as main information source for all media contacts requesting
data and insights
• Work closely with the marketing/sales managers to develop creative
and integrated programs to support product introduction.
• Establish processes to generate steady volume of press releases and
promote within the appropriate channels
• Develop and manage relationships with key press and influencers.
Work with brand teams to increase major press coverage of Juicy
Couture in key publications, exploiting pre-existing and new media
relationships
• Experience developing, managing and implementing strategic
communications and media relations programs
• Experience drafting press releases
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 7 years public relations experience
• Excellent writing skills
• New York based
• Experience working with senior executives; ability to work
independently and manage freelancers, contractors and/or public
relations agencies
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing
priorities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience managing local and regional teams and agencies
• Agency Experience preferred, corporate PR experience required
• Excellent editor relationships
• Presence in industry functions and community
• Ability to secure and craft business stories
• Global media awareness
• Awareness of celebrity talent, films and TV shows
