Arts for All: Los Angeles County Regional Blueprint for Arts Education initiative

THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION invites resumes from professional,
enthusiastic individuals interested in serving in a key role in the newly
expanded, nationally recognized Arts for All: Los Angeles County Regional
Blueprint for Arts Education initiative. An immediate opening is available
for a full-time Arts for All Implementation Manager.

Arts for All is a countywide strategic plan to restore dance, music,
theatre, and the visual arts to 1.7 million students in Los Angeles County's
81 public school districts. With more than 100 partners and managed by the
Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the initiative has become a national
model. With a grant from The Wallace Foundation to expand the work of the
initiative, Arts for All is poised over the next five years to make further
significant and sustainable progress by implementing new initiatives that
will deepen district capacity to provide quality arts instruction for
students, increase the quality of arts instruction through professional
development opportunities for Arts Coordinators, teachers and arts
specialists, and mobilize advocates to sustain and support district-wide
quality arts education. The grant will propel the next phase of Arts for
All's work resulting in greatly expanded program responsibility and

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Reporting to the Arts for All Senior Implementation
Manager, this position will provide analysis, development, and
administration of highly complex, multifaceted initiatives to deepen school
district capacity to provide quality arts instruction and increase the
quality of arts instruction through professional development for
district-level Arts Coordinators, teachers, and arts providers. This
position works independently to administer all aspects of program
initiatives.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

* Provide support to district-level Arts Coordinators in implementation of
district arts education policies and plans.
* Serve as a primary liaison between Arts Coordinators and Arts for All
staff.
* Create roster of expert consultants and work with them to develop and
implement an in-depth professional development program for established Arts
Coordinators to improve their capacity to implement high-quality arts
education throughout their districts.
* Analyze the needs of newly appointed Arts Coordinators and develop and
implement training curriculum to meet those needs.
* Create training handbook for future Arts Coordinators.
* Analyze the overall effectiveness of initiatives and make
recommendations to strengthen program operations, including the development
of new tools, systems, methods, and procedures.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited four year college or
university with major course work in education, arts, or a related field.
Master's degree in a related field is desirable. Three years project
management experience in arts education. Experience implementing
professional development programs for district administrators or educators.
Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively; demonstrated analytical and
decision-making skills; strong knowledge of current trends in arts education
in California.

ANNUAL SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary for this position in $51,756
and the salary ranges from $51,756-$67,884. A competitive benefits package
will be provided.
